We as living in Pakistan receiving plenty of advertisements & messages to raise the funds through SMS. Recently, I have received a message for flood donation to send Rs.10 to xxxx number and participate.

This is hard to believe that our Telecom industry (non Pakistani) organizations are such patriotic with exclusive advertisement with the loyality with Pakistan and the Talented & Achivers encouragement, charge 70% of every amount charged by a caller. After that, the remaining Rs.3 is being distributed by the IVR Service Provider. Seems only Rs.2 is going to the original organization who is spending lots of money to advertise. By this two rupees, first of all they deduct their advertisement charges & sallaries. So what a Flood victim or Earthquake victim is getting? it is a big question. The most best part is. to recover the amount from Patriot Mobile company will take 4 to 6 months. That means a flood victim will get rs.1 after 6 months when a user like you and me sends Rs.10 to the short codes.

This is an humble request to all public please, donot be so sentimental & aggressive to pick your cell phone and send them the amounts. I am also watching that TV channels had already announced short codes to spend more and more into donations. Your real money never reach to the victims unless you give them directly.

Sincerly

The software was released a day after google introduced a new look for its mobile internet search results pages in United States.

I found this URL in google search, and in result of that search, my another website moomal.com has been in reach. I came to amaze that this domain is belongs to Atiqa Odho, I am not sure. But when i got a chance to browse it, this website is suspended mainly for non payment.

This domain has been registered by Thobson hosting company, and might be they have suspend it due to any other reason but the non payment is vital. Now this is the most crutial issue which I am trying to voice since last few years.

When a hosting company suspend any website for its customer, it doesn’t mean that only customer’s website credibility goes down, but those organization who are planning to search for hosting companies to register their domains, and when came across suspended websites, companies go back. Because at any stage, a hosting company can suspend your website for any reason. That is dangerous. Personally, I have more than 30 domains registered with hosting company in Islamabad with full time blackmailing, and I switched myself after a long release. These are one of the reason why IT is not going to establish in Pakistan.

PTA has just released 2009 December mobile subscriber stats. Though it would have been nice if the industry could hit 100 million mark in calendar year 2009, we are content about the overall progress (7.6 million net additions) of the telecom segment.

Mobilink had a good last quarter, ending with 30.8 million subscribers and retained its market share of 32% from the beginning of the year. Telenor is firm at second spot. Ufone also showed good progress (18.5 M) towards the end of year but overall it fell behind Warid (18.8 M) which became the number 3 in terms of total subscribers.

The growth in the first quarter of 2010 will be important. Obviously we are looking at multiple challenges which telecom – and other industries – are facing in Pakistan and also on global scale.

Here are some snapshots. First one shows overall market share at end of 2009. Below that are the December growth numbers for each mobile network operator.
